Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

Between science and the art of healing

I come from a family of doctors and studied medicine in Gdańsk, specializing in family medicine. From the beginning, however, I was fascinated by more than just the biology of disease—I was troubled by questions about the nature of life, health, and balance that I couldn't find in academic textbooks. So I began seeking answers where medicine meets philosophy—in Eastern traditions.

I practiced Tai Qi and Kung Fu, and explored the essence of Qi—the subtle energy of life. While studying anatomy and physiology, I tried to understand how Western science could explain the phenomena described in classical Chinese texts. My breakthrough came over 15 years ago when I began studying Chinese medicine in a small group under the supervision of Dr. Witold Wandel, and later at the TOMO school, where I had the honor of studying with Professor Li Jie. It was there that I truly began to understand what health is, what illness is, and how deeply rooted they are in the rhythm of a person's life.

In over 20 years of working in a clinic, I often encountered situations where standard approaches failed to produce the desired results. My knowledge of Chinese medicine allowed me to see more broadly, more deeply, and to provide more effective care. Over time, I managed to combine both worlds: the precision of Western medicine with the intuition and logic of Chinese medicine. This is how my private practice was born, where I utilize acupuncture, herbal medicine, dietary therapy, body awareness work, and elements of psychology.

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

I'm constantly learning—taking courses, studying classical texts, and developing my understanding of the human person as a whole. Today, I focus on a very classical approach: individual diagnosis, pulse measurement, pattern recognition, and selecting therapy for a specific person, here and now.

Because medicine—true medicine—is not just a science. It's the art of encounter, listening, and understanding. It's a path I follow with passion and humility.

As an acupuncture lecturer, I share my knowledge with future generations of therapists. Together with Professor Li Jie, I organize courses dedicated to the classic work Ling Shu Jing, in which we explore not only the technique but also the philosophy of acupuncture—its logic, symbolism, and profound meaning in the healing process.

Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine

What is acupuncture?

  • A natural healing method derived from Chinese medicine, used for over 4,000 years.
  • It involves puncturing specific points on the body, known as acupuncture points, with thin needles.
  • The aim of the treatment is to restore energy balance (Qi), improve circulation, and stimulate the body's self-regulation processes.
  • The treatment is safe and individually tailored to the patient's health and constitution.
  • It can support the treatment of conditions such as back pain, migraines, insomnia, digestive disorders, hormonal cycles, stress, and emotional tension.
  • The needles are sterile and disposable, and the treatment is performed in a hygienic environment.
  • The effects of the treatment can be felt after the first treatment, although a series of sessions is often recommended.
  • Acupuncture can be combined with other methods, such as herbal medicine, diet therapy, Tuina massage, and others.
